Converting our heights to different units

We practised multiplying or dividing by 10, 100, or 1000 to change units. We investigated how the position of the decimal point and zero placeholders works.

Photography techniques

For art, we have been studying some of the techniques used in photography. The first photo is interesting because the net is framing the subject (the footballer). It is a frame within the photo.

The second photo uses the rule of thirds. The interesting parts of the image are on the third lines, or where the third lines meet. (The subject doesn't always have to be in the middle of the photo).

INTRODUCING

Mr Karl Ganda

I am so excited about being part of the year 7-8 team for 2017. I look forward to meeting you all and beginning a new learning journey in Room 4. Together, we are going to create a unique and special class. I value a classroom full of laughter, respect, challenges, questions, creativity and possibilities. I believe in working hard and playing hard, and that doing those things are an important part of being a happy and well-rounded person.

I have been teaching Year 7 and 8 students for the last three years. Before I became a teacher, I explored many different countries and careers, and I studied a range of subjects at university. For me, life is all about learning and growing, and sharing these experiences with people you care about. We are going to teach each other so much this year.
